Ian Hutchinson won last year's Superbike race at Dundrod |
Ian Hutchinson will ride for the Rob McElnea Yamaha team in the Superbike and Supersport races in Saturday's Ulster Grand Prix. The Yorkshireman was looking for machinery to ride at the Dundrod meeting after splitting with the AIM Yamaha team on Sunday. Hutchinson won last year's main Superbike race at the Ulster GP. The 28-year-old claimed a brace of podium finishes at this year's Isle of Man TT races. He has been a winner at all three international road races in the past few years but has failed to make a significant impression in the British Supersport championship this season. Hutchinson qualified in 15th position in the 600cc class at Knockhill at the weekend but did not race. He had been linked with a move to the Ballymoney-based JMF Millsport Yamaha team but Dungannon rider Ryan Farquhar is now competing in their colours. The AIM Yamha team have indicated that they will not now be racing at 'Prix'.
