Jonathan Rea was on the podium at Misano |
Jonathan Rea finished third in Sunday's World Supersport round at Misano. The HannSpree Ten Kate Honda rider from Ballyclare had qualified in sixth position for the race. Rea's team-mate Andrew Pitt won the race from British rider Craig Jones, also on a Honda, with Fabien Foret fourth on a Yamaha. Rea was sixth in the previous round of the series at Nurburgring and his best finish of the year was a second place at Assen. After the race Rea said he wanted to thank his mechanics for all the work they had done over the weekend. "I had a problem all weekend and the guys worked night and day to resolve it. "We started the race with a bit of a problem but to finish third on a bad day is not a bad thing. "I really like the Misano circuit so I feel we should have capitalised more, but third is not a bad result. "Some of our rivals had some bad luck and the weekend has given me good motivation for the next round at Brno."
