Corser has dominated so far this season |
Troy Corser edged out Carl Muggeridge to take pole for Sunday's two World Superbike races at Brands Hatch. The Australian championship leader had a best lap of one minute 26.672 seconds with Muggeridge 0.161 secs behind.
Britain's defending world champion James Toseland was third fastest with Frenchman Regis Laconi in fourth to complete the front row of the grid.
Alstare Corona Suzuki rider Corser heads the standings by 73 points from nearest rival Chris Vermeulen.
Britons Chris Walker and Dennis Hobbs qualified fifth and 13th-quickest respectively, while Steve Martin and Garry McCoy, of the Foggy Petronas team were in 10th and 11th places.
Yukio Kagayama qualified 12th despite nursing suspected broken ribs sustained in a spill during the morning's qualifying practice session.
And there was frustration for Ben Bostrom, who was relegated to an automatic 16th-place start after failing to appear for superpole after an electrical problem with his Renegade Koji Fireblade.
