Stoke Potters have withdrawn from the Premier League for financial reasons and will run at National League level in 2011.

The Potters have suffered substantial losses over the last three seasons, but promoter Dave Tattum hopes the club can return to a higher level in the future.

He said: "I hope our supporters will understand this decision.

"It is to build for the future and return the club to the Premier League in a position of financial strength."

He added: "This has been one of the most difficult decisions we have ever taken and it certainly wasn't taken lightly.

"We have thought long and hard about this since our last meeting in October and we want to do what is right for the club. We believe this is the right way forward."
