Ill health has forced John Woolridge to leave his post as team manager

John Woolridge has been forced to leave his role as team manager of the Stoke Potters because of ill health.

Woolridge returned to the helm on a full-time basis at Loomer Road at the start of the 2009 season.

"I'm obviously disappointed not to be able to continue but the doctors have advised me that I need to ease up on things," he told the club website.

Promoter Dave Tattum added: "John has always been a loyal servant at Stoke and we wish him a speedy recovery."

The Potters get their season under way on 17 March when they take on the Birmingham Brummies in a challenge match, before beginning their Premier Trophy campaign away at Scunthorpe nine days later.
