King's Lynn's Simon Lambert claims Golden Hammer glory
Lambert has sights set of the League Riders' Championship
Simon Lambert produced five flawless rides to win the first Golden Hammer meeting since 1996.
The King's Lynn star scored a 15-point maximum at Monmore Green as the revived Dudley Heathens club restored the Hammer to the speedway calendar.
Former World Champion Sam Ermolenko was the last rider to take the title without dropping a single point.
"I've always been a nearly man to be honest in individuals, it gets so disappointing," Lambert told BBC WM.
"This couldn't have come at a better time for me, I've got the National League Riders' Championship this Sunday at Rye House - so I'll be the man to beat."
Buxton's Craig Cook pushed Lambert all the way with 13 points, Heathens skipper Lee Smart claiming the final spot on the podium after a race-off with team-mate Micky Dyer.
