Walsall manager Chris Hutchings has said his team are lacking belief after the Saddlers suffered their sixth consecutive defeat at Hartlepool.
Hutchings' side are now in the relegation zone in League One after losing 2-1 at the Victoria Ground.
"Football is all about confidence and when you're winning it breeds confidence," he told BBC WM. "At the moment it's a little bit dented.
"It's all about results and we've got to start getting them."
Walsall led through an early goal from Julian Gray at Hartlepool, but could not hold on to their advantage and end their run of defeats.
The Saddlers face a trip to fellow strugglers Leyton Orient on Tuesday.
Defender Oliver Lancashire added that it will take some time for the club to undo the damage done by their recent run of form.
"Even if we win on Tuesday, we're still nowhere near doing well," he said. "We've got to win back-to-back games and get a run of wins going."
