The Heathens are pushing for a place in the National League play-offs |
Dudley Heathens have added Barrie Evans to their National League squad to cover for the injured Jon Armstrong. Evans, 26, is a free agent after the mid-season withdrawal of the Mildenhall Fen Tigers from the league. Armstrong has had a plate inserted into his arm after a heavy fall guesting for Newport at King's Lynn last weekend. "We welcome Barrie to the team, we feel he's more than capable of performing to the level we've been getting from Armo," said chairman Nigel Pearson. "But we are very saddened by the demise of Mildenhall, and we wish our friends across at West Row the very best of luck in securing a return to the sport next season." The Heathens club partners at Birmingham and Wolverhampton have agreed to give Evans some track time ahead of Dudley's next fixture at the Isle of Wight.
