Franklin will be out of action for at least two weeks

Dudley Heathens are hopeful young rider Richard Franklin will make a swift recovery after he suffered a nasty injury at King's Lynn.

The teenager hurt his windpipe in a fall and is struggling to talk properly or to swallow his food.

"It was a nasty crash but the medical team at Norfolk Arena were excellent," said Heathens boss Will Pottinger.

"Thankfully it appears it's nothing long-term for Rich who will be desperate to be racing again."

Dudley will look to call in a guest at reserve for Wednesday's home meeting against the Isle of Wight at Perry Barr.
