An out-of-sorts Jake Anderson notched just three points |
Dudley Heathens suffered by far their heaviest reverse of the season as they were beaten 59-34 at Newport. Dudley were without Jon Armstrong for the National League meeting after he reported an eye infection. That left them using the rider replacement system, which yielded only four points for the Heathens. "It was one of those days, everything just seemed to go against us. We have to put it down to experience," said team manager Will Pottinger. "It's all part of the learning curve for our youngsters, and again I'd like to thank our wonderful travelling fans." Lee Smart was the Heathens best performer with 17 points, Tom Perry next best with seven. Tim Webster inspired Newport with 12 points, Mark Jones adding 10, Todd Kurtz and Kyle Newman with nine apiece.
