Swindon Robins manager Ronnie Russell has asked fans for their continued support as his side search for their first win in seven meetings. The Robins take on Peterborough on Friday having not won since 8 July. "I can sympathise with those who feel frustrated about out current situation, I feel that way too," Russell told the club website. "We need to stick together though and ride out of this run of form we currently find ourselves in." Swindon, who have had four of their last five meetings postponed due to bad weather, will give a debut to Polish youngster Maciek Janowski against the Panthers. "We're all looking forward to seeing Maciek Janowski take to the track," said Russell. | I'd like to reassure supporters of Swindon Speedway that I'm hugely passionate about this club, I live and breathe it |
"He'll be feeling nervous before the meeting gets underway, so I'm urging supporters to give him a huge cheer on parade to help ease his nerves." Following the meeting against Peterborough, Swindon entertain Ipswich at Blunsdon on Monday, 30 August. Then, on Thursday, 2 September, the Robins are scheduled to stage their penultimate home league fixture against high-flying Wolverhampton. "Ahead of these matches, I'd like to reassure supporters of Swindon Speedway that I'm hugely passionate about this club, I live and breathe it," added Russell. "This intense run of fixtures provides us with an opportunity to gather some momentum."
