Steve Plater is the reigning British Supersport Champion |
Woodhall Spa's Steve Plater has confirmed he will return to the British Superstock Championship at Cadwell Park on Bank Holiday Monday. The HM Plant Honda rider, 42, has not raced since breaking his neck and arm at the North West 200 in May. He told BBC Lincolnshire: "I have to pass a medical before the weekend starts but it's a massive event and my local round and I want to be racing. "My bones are repaired and it's now a case of easing myself back in gently." Plater, who won the British Supersport title in 2009, was leading the Superstock championship with two victories and a second place in the opening three rounds before his crash at the Northern Ireland road race. He is now sixth in the standings after being sidelined for six rounds of the series.
