Boston United's perfect start in Blue Square Bet North came to an end with a 2-1 defeat by Nuneaton at York Street.
Lee Moore's header gave the visitors a first-half lead with Guy Hadland making it 2-0 just after an hour.
Miles Hunter pulled a goal back five minutes from time but Nuneaton held on to end the Pilgrims' run of three wins.
Joint-manager Paul Hurst told BBC Lincolnshire: "We seemed a little flat and maybe paid them too much respect but I don't think we were outplayed."
