Eugene Laverty edged out Kenan Sofuoglu to win the World Supersport race at Silverstone on Sunday. The Toomebridge rider led for most of the race but Sofuoglu moved ahead before Laverty reclaimed first place in the closing laps. Ballyclare's Jonathan Rea was second behind Englishman Cal Crutchlow in both World Superbike races. Rea led in both races on his HannSpree Ten Kate Honda before being overhauled by Yamaha rider Crutchlow. Leon Haslam was third in the opener while Leon Camier completed the podium places in the second race. Rea was upbeat after securing another runner-up spot in race two. "Half-way through the race I was thinking 'Have I got the pace?", he said. "It was a bit slower than race one but well done to Cal, he rode absolutely superb. "On my side the team gave me a good bike this weekend. "I'm really happy and enjoyed riding this weekend, it's a good result to go into the summer break with." Rea remains third in the championship standings, 130 points behind leader Max Biaggi.
