Woffinden's first season as Wolves' skipper has been inconsistent |
Strong performances from Freddie Lindgren and Nicolai Klindt spurred Wolves to a 54-39 Elite League victory over Ipswich at Monmore Green. Swede Lindgren grabbed four heat wins in a 14-point haul, Klindt capably backing him up with 12. But skipper Tai Woffinden had another modest evening, claiming only six points from his four rides. "He's a quality kid and he'll come good when it matters," Wolves team manager Peter Adams told BBC WM. "I think he's got a bit of an equipment issue to go with various other problems." | He's an important cog in the machine and everybody at the moment is just trundling along. Adams was happier with the performance of the 21-year old Danish star Klindt. "We had a team meeting before we started because I've spotted one or two weaknesses in his game. "He tried to address them tonight and I think it largely worked - he's an important cog in the machine and everybody at the moment is just trundling along." Scott Nicholls was the star turn for the Witches, his 16 points including a maximum six from a tactical ride, with Pole Robert Miskowiak adding 11. The two sides meet again at Foxhall on Thursday when Ipswich will hope to have Ales Dryml back from Czech League duty.
