Woffinden was British U-21 Champion in 2008 |
Wolves skipper Tai Wofinden is to give up riding in Sweden and Poland for at least the next month in order to concentrate on his Monmore commitments. After a brilliant 2009, the 19-year-old was made captain for 2010 but he has struggled to find similar form so far. "He's just doing too much. He's racing from one place to another and it's new to him," boss Peter Adams told BBC WM. "He needs to concentrate on Wolverhampton because that's where his best chance of honours lie." Woffinden is in his second year at Monmore Green and Adams is confident the club's fans will soon see the teenager back to his best. | He cannot even talk because of the extent of the injuries but he sent us a text to say he is on his way home to have more treatment Wolves boss Peter Adams on Adam Skornicki's facial injury |
"I'm glad he taken the decision he has and I'm sure in the second half of the season you're going to see the best of Tai Woffinden again. He can pull it together when he really has to," Adams said. Meanwhile, Adam Skornicki has left hospital in Manchester and returned home to Poland after a bad crash in Wolves' 45-45 draw at Belle Vue on Wednesday. Skornicki suffered serious facial injuries and Adams says it could be a while before he returns. "It was a a bizarre and very nasty injury - something I have never seen before," he said. "He cannot even talk because of the extent of the injuries but he sent us a text to say he is on his way home to have more treatment. "At this stage we cannot say how long he is likely to be out for."
