The Premier Trophy Final will take place on 25 and 28 July |
Newcastle Diamonds and Birmingham Brummies have agreed dates for the Premier Trophy final. The two sides will meet at Newcastle's Brough Park on Sunday, 25 July - a date previously scheduled for a league meeting between the clubs. The return leg will take place at Perry Barr three nights later on Wednesday, 28 July. The two clubs have also been drawn together in the semi-finals of the Knockout Cup. Newcastle Diamonds booked their place in Premier Trophy final with a 103-81 aggregate win over King's Lynn Stars. The Brummies secured their spot after overturning a 13-point first-leg deficit to beat Rye House 99-81 over two matches. They have already sold out all the places on a 70-seat coach for the trip to the north east for the first leg of the final. Brummies promoter Graham Drury said: "Both [Diamonds promoter] George [English] and myself were keen to get the final run as soon as we could, rather than leave it to the end of the season like it has been in the past. "We are two of the form teams in the Premier League going head-to-head, and I'm sure we're in for a cracking final over two legs."
