Manx rider Conor Cummins is making good progress and says he is recovering "slowly but surely" following a high speed crash in the Senior TT race.

The 24-year-old was challenging for the lead before he crashed at the Verandah on the mountain section of the course.

Speaking at the Southern 100 meeting on Thursday, he said: "I'm on the mend slowly but surely and I can't thank everyone that has helped enough."

The Ramsey rider is targeting a return to racing for TT 2011.

"I've got so much titanium in me that I'm going to beep at airports," he added.

The 6ft 4in rider sustained serious back, arm and knee injuries in the crash.
