Lyon provided a good grounding for Mills' career when he rode at Lynn |
King's Lynn Stars welcome Chris Mills back to their team on Wednesday when they face Rye House Rockets. Mills won five trophies with Lynn in 2006 and 2007, but has since failed to recreate the form which led to several Elite League outings. Stars manager Rob Lyon expects him to be welcomed at the Norfolk Arena. "We had Chris for a couple of years and he moved on quite well but we didn't keep that interest going. It had an affect on him, he'd admit it," he said. He added: "We've got an opportunity with Linus [Eklof] leaving us to bring him back. We thought long and hard about what decision to make, we feel it's the right one." | It was a difficult decision for him to make, but he's got himself in a situation where he's got to regroup his personal life and his career King's Lynn Stars manager Rob Lyon on Linus Eklof |
Sweden's Eklof joined the Stars last summer, going on to win the Premier League treble, but he resigned last week citing personal reasons. Lyon said his decision was for the best for all parties. "It was a difficult decision for him to make, but he's got himself in a situation where he's got to regroup his personal life and his career," he said. "The best way to do that is back in Sweden where he can consolidate and look to bring himself back up. "It's an unfortunate situation, the guy's got a lot of ability." The Stars return to Premier League action at home when Rye House Rockets visit the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday.
