Alex rode for the Redline KTM British Superbike team at Cadwell Park |
Lincoln's Alex Lowes is to race for the Seton Interceptor Yamaha team for the remaining rounds of this season's British Supersport Championship. Alex, whose twin Sam is second in the standings with GNS Honda, has already deputised for the team in round two of the series at Thruxton in April. He told BBC Lincolnshire: "They're enthusiastic and want to do well. "I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait to get out there, get some good results and see where it takes me." Having stood in for Helge Spjeldnes at Thruxton when the Norwegian was unable to travel to the meeting because of the Icelandic ash cloud, Alex, 19, also deputised for Redline KTM in the British Superbike championship round at Cadwell Park. | It's hard to keep yourself happy when you don't know if you're going to be riding |
His original plans to race a privateer Suzuki in BSB had fallen through when that team suffered from a lack of sponsorship. "It's hard to keep yourself happy when you don't know if you're going to be riding, which is why I took it upon myself to get a full-time ride," he admitted. "If I got a concrete offer to race in BSB for the rest of the season, it would be hard not to do it as that's where I want to be. "But at the moment I'm 100% focused on doing well for Phil Seton's team."
