James Walker ended the Jarama Superleague Formula meeting in style, coming back from 16th place in race one to finish fourth in the second.

The Jersey racer now lies eighth in the title chase, having been 18th after the first round.

Despite starting race one well, Walker was hit from behind, but then produced a great drive in race two.

"Nürburgring is next and I love racing there, so I'll be doing all I can to get to the Super Final," he said.

In race one Walker was n seventh place, when he was hit by Julien Jousse just a few laps in, leaving him with a puncture.

He crawled back to the pits for a new tyre and eventually finished 16th.

Lining up in third place on the grid for race two should have given Walker a good start.

But Borja Garcia, on pole position, was caught napping when the lights went green and his side of the field, including Walker, could only watch as the other side flew past at the rolling start.

"I couldn't believe it at the start as you assume the guy in front is going to go when the race goes green," said Walker. "The start dropped me right back to around tenth place so I had to get my head down and go for it."

He will be back on the track next weekend as the series moves straight on to the Nürburgring in Germany.

"It's disappointing to get a bad result in race one through no fault of my own," reflected Walker. "But we showed we can turn it around for race two."
