Eastbourne's Trevor Geer hoping for Thursday success
Eastbourne Eagles co-promoter Trevor Geer is hoping for a successful evening when they host Swindon Robins in their first Thursday home meeting.
The Eagles have decided to hold Elite League fixtures at the Arlington Stadium in midweek in a bid to boost attendances and field a full line-up.
Geer told BBC Sussex: "It was a big decision to take to move to Thursdays and it's one we had to take.
"It's imperative the crowd does turn up to keep the speedway going."
He added: "Give it a few weeks and it should be good for Eastbourne speedway."
Geer has revealed the Eagles will consider selling Lewis Bridger after the rider decided to stay with Coventry Bees, turning his back on an earlier agreement.
He said: "I'm pretty annoyed about it. At the end of the day we want riders that want to ride for Eastbourne.
"If Lewis wanted to he wouldn't have succumbed to the carrots offered at Coventry.
"We did threaten Lewis that we'd probably sell him if he stayed with Coventry and we might well still do that."
