King's Lynn Stars captain Kevin Doolan top-scored for his team as they beat the Glasgow Tigers 57-33 at the Norfolk Arena in the KO Cup.

The Stars had won the match as early as heat ten, with Doolan unbeaten by an opposition rider.

Guest rider Ty Proctor gained eight points before coming off his bike and picking up a shoulder injury.

Doolan told BBC Radio Norfolk: "For the team to put together a night like they did tonight, it was great."

The first leg had got underway at Glasgow's Ashfield Stadium on Sunday but had to be abandoned because of a waterlogged track.

"We knew we were doing well at Glasgow on Sunday before it got rained off and we didn't want to waste that.

"We wanted to make sure that we kept firing in tonight and didn't get complacent," Doolan added.

The second leg will now take place in Glasgow on Sunday 23 May.
