Lorenzo finished second in Sunday's MotoGP opener in Qatar |
MotoGP star Jorge Lorenzo and 13-time World Champion Angel Nieto are to attend the Isle of Man TT Races to complete a lap of the course. The Spanish duo will complete a lap of the Mountain Course before the Dainese Senior TT Race on Friday 11 June. Lorenzo said: "It will be a great honour for me. This is one of the most epic and famous races in the World." Last year Valentino Rossi and Giacomo Agostini lapped the course ahead of the Superbike TT Race. TT development manager Paul Phillips told BBC Isle of Man: "Last year we had two very famous Italians and this year we will welcome two exceptional Spanish riders. "We hope that they will create a real buzz ahead of the Senior TT race." Lorenzo finished runner-up in the 2009 MotoGP Championship and started his 2010 campaign with a second place in Qatar. Nieto's 90 Grand Prix victories place him third on the all time winners list behind Agostini and Rossi. The parade lap has been organised by Dainese to celebrate their third year as the official safety sponsor of the Isle of Man event.
