Workington Comets have confirmed that former rider Lou Sansom will be present at the club's 40th Anniversary celebrations at the end of March. Sansom, 63, appeared in Workington's first meeting back in 1970, and became a popular rider over six years at Derwent Park with the Comets. "There are really two legends as far as Workington speedway is concerned," said promoter Ian Thomas. "Carl Stonehewer from the second era, and Lou from when we first launched."
