Coventry Bees have signed Christian Hefenbrock on loan from Wolves - and brought back British number two Edward Kennett for another season at Brandon.

Kennett enjoyed a successful 2009 following his transfer from Eastbourne.

"I enjoyed last season at Coventry," he said. "Things went well and hopefully it will be a success again next year.

"I focused hard from the start about having Coventry as my home track, and I started putting in some good scores early on which got my confidence up."

German Hefenbrock, whose last spell in British racing was at Wolves in 2008, joins Coventry on a 4.00 average.

He has also had stints with Lakeside and Peterborough.

Bees promoter Colin Pratt said: "There were a number of clubs in both leagues who were chasing Christian.

"But we felt this was the way to go. We feel he can do a good job for us in the lower-order."

Bees now have a full team signed up for the new season, although they must make two more additions.

They need another number eight stand-by rider and they also need someone to share the second reserve position with Josh Auty, after American youngster Ricky Wells was ruled out of their squad.

Bees asset Wells has been loaned out to Premier League Stoke and is now ineligible to double up in the Elite League.

Manager Alun Rossiter said: "We did expect the rule to change but we have to abide by it, and I have a couple of irons in the fire for filling that role."
