Adams first rode for the Robins back in 1990 |
Swindon Robins co-owner Gary Patchett says he is confident skipper Leigh Adams will be at the club next season. The 38-year-old Australian is the Robins' star rider and rejoined the club in 2004 for the third time in his illustrious career. "We're expecting to agree terms with Leigh - we're not far away," Patchett told BBC Wiltshire. "It's always easy to do a deal with Leigh and I don't expect this year to be any different from any other." However it looks like unlikely that Slovenian Matej Zagar will return as Swindon cannot fit the pair's points averages into the line-up. Patchett has admitted that he is hopeful Polish rider Adrian Miedzinski will make a return to the Abbey Stadium after a three-year absence. And he is also interested in promising young Swedish rider Tomas Jonasson from Premier League outfit Edinburgh Monarchs. "Thomas is a rider we're interested in. We're in talks with Edinburgh and I think we'll be in contact with the rider in the very near future," added Patchett.
