Swindon put fifth-placed Huddersfield to the sword to edge closer to a League One play-off position.
Swindon's Billy Paynter capitalised on good work by Charlie Austin to slot a first-half opener past Alex Smithies.
Five minutes later, the Terriers keeper responded by finding Lee Novak with a long clearance that the youngster drilled home from 20 yards.
But Austin had the final say, bringing down a long ball from Kevin Amankwaah to fire home the winner on 58 minutes.
Swindon boss Danny Wilson told BBC Wiltshire:
"It wasn't pure football but who could expect that in these conditions?
"What we saw again was a fantastic, committed performance
"We've shown that real winning mentality we're going to need."
Huddersfield Town manager Lee Clark told BBC Radio Leeds:
"It was OK, not bad - there wasn't much between the two teams, apart from us giving away two very cheap goals away once again.
"The pitch was magnificent and you get horrible wind, but it's there for both sides.
"We didn't use it to our advantage in the first half, we didn't have enough shots and crosses, but it still doesn't condone the goals that we gave away."
