Salisbury City have signed Torquay United defender Chris Todd on loan for the second successive season.
The centre-back started eight games for the Whites last term and played a major part in their climb away from the Blue Square Premier relegation zone.
Due to the club being in administration they were placed under a transfer embargo but were allowed to sign Todd because of injuries and suspensions.
"He's a person that will give the club a lift," said boss Tommy Widdrington.
"We've moved mountains to be able to get him here.
"As well as what he can do for us on the pitch, he'll be a great presence in the dressing room and is someone the entire squad, especially the younger lads, will look up to."
Todd, who has not been a regular in Torquay's first team since their promotion to League Two in the summer, is in line to face Stevenage Borough on Saturday at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.
Todd was diagnosed with leukaemia in November 2008 but is now in remission.
