 Priaulx secured a first and second place in Japan |
Guernsey's Andy Priaulx fought through wet conditions in Japan to claim his second win of the World Touring Car Championship season. In only his second visit to the Okayama circuit, Priaulx qualified in second for the weekend's first race and seized on a mistake by Gabriele Tarquine to claim the win. But, he had to settle for second in race two behind teammate Augusto Farfus. The series now heads to China for the final two races of the season. Priaulx added: "This year my performances have perhaps been the best of my career, but sadly the results have not always reflected that. Priaulx is out of contention to win the drivers' championship title in fourth place, with Gabriele Tarquini, Yvan Muller and Augusto Farfus all looking to take top spot. Following the results in Japan BMW trail SEAT by three points at the top of the manufacturers' championship.
