Birmingham's Michael Russell took the chequered flag in the blue riband senior race by over a minute at the Manx Grand Prix on Friday afternoon. Russell recorded the fastest lap of the 2009 event at 116.110 mph on his way to a winning time of 1:19:45.34. Two Manxmen completed the podium with newcomers' A winner Sean Murphy claiming second place from Ryan Kneen. The pair battled throughout the four-lap race with Murphy taking second by five seconds. Ivan Lintin was fourth, Simon Fulton fifth and Philip McGurk sixth.
