Local rider Ryan Kneen will be in contention in the senior event

A rain-ravaged 2009 Manx Grand Prix will draw to a close with the final day of action on the world-famous Isle of Man Mountain Course on Friday.

The lightweight and ultra-lightweight classes will open proceedings, followed by the blue riband senior event.

Manxman Dan Sayle was quickest in qualifying for the lightweight race, whilst Northern Ireland's Joe Phillips leads the ultra-lightweight class.

Meanwhile, Scott Wilson is quickest going into the senior race.

Wilson lapped the 37.75 mile course at 117.618mph on his 750cc Suzuki but will have stiff competition from Ryan McCay and Manx challengers Ryan Kneen and Simon Fulton.

The Clerk of the Course has announced a 30-minute delay to the start of this mornings race, whilst debris is cleared from Glen Vine section of the course.
