Stojanowski has an average of 3.44 for Swindon this season |
Swindon have signed veteran British rider Paul Hurry to replace Krzysztof Stojanowski at reserve. The Pole has struggled for form in recent meetings, despite the Robins sitting second in the Elite League after 14 meetings. Swindon manager Alun Rossiter said: "It is unfortunate, but things just haven't quite worked out for Stoj. "In recent weeks his confidence has taken a real hit and Stoj no longer felt he was competitive." Stojanowski will be replaced by Richard Sweetman for the Robins' home meeting with the Witches on Thursday, with Hurry making his debut against former team Lakeside the following Thursday. | We have realistic expectations and are hopeful Paul will bring more consistency to the number six berth |
A win for Swindon will return them to the top of the Elite League table. Hurry joins the Robins on an average of 3.11, and Rossiter is hopeful he will have a big impact. "He had a decent spell with Poole earlier in the season during which time he rekindled his enthusiasm for the sport," he said. "He has plenty of Elite league experience and will be right amongst the action. "We have realistic expectations and are hopeful Paul will bring more consistency to the number six berth."
