Matej Zagar won all five of his races in Suffolk |
Swindon picked up only their second away Elite League success of the season with a 53-38 win at Ipswich on Monday. The Wiltshire side claimed a four-point haul thanks to the margin of victory which saw recent signing Matej Zagar unbeaten in his five rides. Travis McGowan and Ryan Fisher also reached double figures for the Robins. "It was a great win, I said it was a must win because I felt they [Ipswich] were vulnerable," Swindon manager Alun Rossiter told BBC Wiltshire. Victory in a meeting that they led from the second heat moves Swindon back into second spot in the Elite League. Zagar was deployed as a heat leader and picked up a 15-point maximum haul while skipper Leigh Adams unusually had to settle for a place behind three of his team-mates in the scoring charts. "We've been complaining about the middle order and they've certainly done well," added Rossiter. "Its nice that we've taken a little bit of the pressure off the captain for once."
