North Devon-based driver Jonathan Ridley-Holloway finished fourth in the Clio Cup race at the Nurburgring.

The race at the famous German track was the 24-year-old's first competitive appearance of 2009.

Ridley-Holloway, who joined forces with his former team Total Control Racing for the event, was upbeat on his return to the racetrack.

"It was an absolutely fantastic weekend and to finish fourth in the race was great," he said.

"The Nurburgring is an unbelievable track and it was fantastic to experience the place in race conditions."

Ridley-Holloway has been out of the ELF Renault Clio Cup series since 2008 because of difficulty gaining sponsorship.

He added: "I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the TCR team again and hopefully we can attract some more sponsorship to enable me to return to racing full time in the near future."
