Murphy has played for Ireland at both U-18 and U-20 level |
Exeter Chiefs have signed Ireland Under-20s prop Ruaidhri Murphy on a one-year deal from Leinster. The 21-year-old was an integral member of the Ireland Under-20 side which won the Six Nations Grand Slam last season. Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter said: "Murphy is a young prop who wants a challenge that he hopes will develop him as a player. "He gives us the necessary strength in depth in the front row which is an area that will be tested next season." Murphy, who has also played for Western Australia and Ireland Under-18s, described joining the Chiefs as an easy decision. "I am truly honoured to join such a professional and aspiring team," he said. "I share with the club a strong desire to win the league and gain promotion to the Premiership."
