In April 2001 Ronnie O'Sullivan finally fulfilled his great potential and won the Snooker World Championship, beating John Higgins in the final.

Ronnie O'Sullivan has achieved his dream of winning the Embassy World Snooker Championship by beating John Higgins 18-14. Both players missed easy chances as nerves began to play their part in the closing stages of the prestigious tournament.

    Ronnie O'Sullivan takes a 10-6 lead into the second day of the Embassy World Snooker Championship final at The Crucible. However it's not all plain sailing for O'Sullivan, who lets his exceptionally high standards slip in the opening four frames of the second session allowing John Higgins to stay within touching distance.
