| South Africa seal weekend whitewash Powell fell early in West Indies' innings 4th One-day international, Grenada: South Africa 203-2 (46.1 overs) bt West Indies 200 (49.3 overs) by 8 wickets Click here for scorecard South Africa completed a second crushing defeat of the West Indies within the space of 24 hours with an eight-wicket win at Grenada. Allan Donald snared four wickets to restrict West Indies to 200. And Herschelle Gibbs and Boeta Dippenaar then both compiled half-centuries to comfortably guide their side home for a victory just a day after their 132-run win on the same ground. In the Windies innings, veteran paceman Donald battled back after being clubbed to the boundary three times in successive balls by Brian Lara to claim the left-hander's wicket for 25.
Lara advanced down the wicket to Donald, but only succeeded in getting a faint edge through to the wicket-keeper to leave the home side on 61 for four. Donald later removed captain Carl Hooper for 46 when he swung a ball to mid-wicket. He added the scalps of Nixon McLean and Cameron Cuffy to wrap up the innings. Only a determined 65 from Marlon Samuels prevented a total collapse from the hosts. Kemp and Ntini chip in South African all-rounder Justin Kemp, filling in for the injured Jacques Kallis, also chipped in with three wickets to help Donald. He picked up two early wickets to remove Ricardo Powell and Chris Gayle and Makhaya Ntini then struck in his first over when Shivnarine Chanderpaul sliced the ball hard to Kemp in the gully. Ntini finished with two for 26 and captain Shaun Pollock was as miserly as ever to concede just 17 runs off his 10 overs. Chasing a modest 201 for victory South Africa were given another solid start by openers Gibbs and Gary Kirsten who added 58 for the first wicket before a rasping square cut by Gibbs was brilliantly held inches above the ground by Chanderpaul. In-form Rhodes Gibbs departed for 27 but Kirsten and Dippenaar added 96 for the second wicket to put the result beyond doubt. Veteran left-hander Kirsten moved sweetly to his second successive half century but on 72 tamely lobbed Carl Hooper to Ricardo Powell in the covers. Dippenaar finished unbeaten on 62 from 109 balls and Jonty Rhodes continued his superb form in the series with 30 from 38 balls that takes his aggregate in four matches to 134 runs at an average of 67.
