| Kallis sets up SA win Jacques Kallis slashes Mervyn Dillon to the fence 3rd One-day international, Grenada: South Africa 287-4 (50 overs) v West Indies 155 all out South Africa win by 132 runs Click here for scorecard Jacques Kallis hit his seventh one-day century and helped South Africa to a 132-run win over the West Indies in Grenada. Kallis hit 107 off 108 balls as all of South Africa's batsmen cashed in at Queen's Park Stadium in Grenada and amassed 287-4 in their 50 overs. The West Indies were all out for 155 which means South Africa take a 2-1 lead in the seven match series. Brian Lara and Carl Hooper, who made 31 and 29 respectively, played briefly entertaining innings. Lara was bowled by Makhaya Ntini and Hooper soon followed and with him West Indies' realistic challenges.
He was dropped on 86 by Mervyn Dillon when the bowler's foot touched the boundary rope as he struggled to remain in the field after taking the catch. Neil McGarrell then dropped a sitter after the right-hander had reached three figures but he fell to Chris Gayle soon after. All South Africa's batsmen revelled in the conditions. The home side, who went into the match with just two pace bowlers, were immediately put under pressure by the opening pair of Gary Kirsten and Herschelle Gibbs. Gibbs, fresh from a century in the second one-day international in Antigua, was especially severe on the bowlers as the visitors raced to 83 after 14 overs. But the right-hander had an escape in the fifth over when he cut a short wide ball from Dillon to Cameron Cuffy on the third man boundary. The paceman held the catch, but his celebrations were cut short when the umpire called a no-ball. Gibbs thrived from then on and kept up a scoring rate of almost a run a ball to reach 46 off 48 balls before he holed out. Klusener assault By that stage South Africa were on 88 and the tone for the innings was set. Kirsten finally found some form to make 50 before he was run out, and Jonty Rhodes and Kallis maintained the momentum to put on 90 for the third wicket. But the veteran Rhodes went three runs shy of his 50 when he failed to connect with a sweep shot and the ball cannoned off his pads and trickled onto the stumps. His departure brought Lance Klusener to the wicket with the best part of 10 overs remaining and the stage was set. Klusener clubbed an unbeaten 25 off 29 balls and shared a 67-run stand with Kallis. The two sides play again on Sunday.
