Cassandra Go cheers Wragg
Cassandra Go (r) leads Misty Eyed home
Cassandra Go (r) leads Misty Eyed home
Cassandra Go won the King's Stand Stakes for Geoff Wragg as grey horses took first and second.

Ridden by Michael Roberts, Cassandra Go won in a similar manner to Queen Anne Stakes winner Medicean by coming through to claim victory by the rails.

Wragg failed to train a winner at last year's Royal meeting, but the first two races showed that his stable in excellent form as Cassandra Go followed up Swallow Flight's second place in Tuesday's opener, the Queen Anne Stakes.

But many Ascot placepots will have been blown by the other placed horses.

Kevin Darley brought the second grey, Misty Eyed (50-1) home in second, with Richard Quinn on Funny Valentine (100-1) in third.

"I walked the track earlier and I thought the best ground was two or three off the fence. I was very happy with my draw," admitted winner Roberts.

"Everything went as I planned."

Last year's winner and race favourite Nuclear Debate was unplaced.

Full result: Ascot 1505 BST:
1. Cassandra Go (M Roberts) 8-1
2. Misty Eyed (K Darley) 50-1
3. Funny Valentine (T Quinn) 10-1
