| Lewis eyes retirement Lennox Lewis regained his titles against Hasim Rahman Lennox Lewis will retire if he beats Mike Tyson in their world title clash, due to take place on 6 April. Speaking at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year show, Lewis revealed that he sees next year's fight as the perfect conclusion to his career. "When Muhammad Ali was champion there was also Joe Frazier and George Foreman at the highest level," said Lewis. "In my era there has been myself, Evander Holyfield and Tyson. "I've already fought Holyfield twice so Tyson would be the final piece of the jigsaw." Lewis regained his WBC and IBF heavyweight titles by beating Hasim Rahman in Las Vegas last month. And the Briton believes Tyson is the only challenge left for him. "Once I've beaten Tyson I'll leave it to the younger guys coming through." |
