Twelve days after losing his rematch with Britain's three-time heavyweight world champion, Rahman said Lewis was a sucker.

Lewis regained his WBC, IBF and IBO titles when avenging March's shock fifth-round defeat in South Africa with a fourth-round knockout in Las Vegas.

The pair had become embroiled in an unsavoury feud in between bouts, frequently trading insults and even brawling out of the ring during a TV chat show.

"I think he lost like a sucker and he won like a sucker," he told USA Today.

"I just got knocked out, and I tried to congratulate him after the fight and he wouldn't accept it.

"To me, the fight and hype is over. I'm telling him he won, I'm telling him congratulations. He should have accepted it like a man, unless he's something else."

Rahman also announced that he has now parted company with trainer Adrian Davis admitting their relationship had turned sour before the Lewis bout.

"Me and my trainer weren't really getting along for the last month of camp," Rahman said.

"There was really a lot of tension. It was hard for me to be around him.

"I almost didn't let him work the corner. He was already paid, so I felt like I had to keep him.

"Win, lose or draw, he was gone. Had he not been paid, he would not have been at the fight."
