Reid secured her maiden European Tour title victory in May |
Melissa Reid failed to maintain her fine start at the Tenerife Ladies Open and could only finish in joint seventh. The Derbyshire golfer, 23, was the halfway leader but was overtaken by compatriot Trish Johnson who carded a superb third-round six-under par 66. Johnson held her nerve in the final round to edge out Frenchwoman Virginie Lagoutte-Clement to win by one shot. The 44-year-old started the final round with a three-shot lead and fired a final round of 70. Lagoutte-Clement shot 68 and took second place at 11 under par, with Anne-Lise Caudal a stroke back in third. Reid, who is attached to Chevin golf club in Duffield, carded 72 in the third round and 73 in the final round to tie for seventh with Sweden's Nina Reis.
