Jersey resident Woosnam is the favourite to claim his "home" title.
Recent heavy rain will make conditions difficult at the Jersey Seniors Classic, says favourite Ian Woosnam.
The 1991 Masters Champion, playing the tournament for the first time, told BBC Jersey that the rain has made his home course a tougher challenge than usual.
"It looks pretty soft for La Moye and that's going to make it even trickier because you want to play it like a sea links course," he said.
"Now you're going to have to fly it into the greens."
The 54-hole event, which boasts a prize fund of £140,000, is unique on the Seniors Tour in that it features amateurs playing alongside professionals in a Championship Pro-Am format.
Woosnam comes into the tournament off the back of a win at Ballybunion in Ireland last weekend, but believes he will need to change his style in Jersey.
"Last week was good for me - because it was a links course, I could use an iron a lot and I've been really struggling with my driver, but I am going to have to get my driver out this week and I am not looking forward to it."
To claim the title Woosnam will have to defeat the best of the European Seniors Tour, with seven past winners in the field.
And the winner of the 2008 Order of Merit on the seniors tour admits he still has some nerves.
"When I get on [the first tee] I still get nervous," he said. "I am more nervous of letting myself down - I know how well I can play but I know how badly I can play as well."
The Jersey Seniors Classic takes place at La Moye Golf Club from June 12-14.
