Jersey's David Brabiner has made it into to the semi-finals of the European Snooker Championships Masters in Duffel, Belgium.
A 5-2 victory over Dutchman Rene Dikstra on Thursday saw Brabiner book his place in the last four.
The Jersey player must now overcome Welshman Darren Morgan on Friday evening for a spot in the final.
Brabiner finished the group stages top of Group C with three points, winning 11 frames and only losing five.
Jersey snooker referee Gary Truscott, is officiating at the Championships and told BBC Radio Jersey that Brabiner's success is not unexpected.
Truscott said: "The people that David's beaten are top of their country, they're not just people who play a game of snooker in their club.
"He has done absolutely fantastic, all the countries are here from everywhere around Europe so his performance is history in the making."
Brabiner is only two wins away from a lucrative move into professional snooker and Truscott said the pressure on him would now increase.
"The Masters is the biggest tournament in the amateur game," Truscott said. "There's a lot at stake because the winner of this gets an automatic ticket onto the professional circuit."
