Benn Barham is enjoying his best year on the European Tour

Kent golfer Benn Barham achieved his best European Tour finish - coming third at the Russian Open.

The Ashford player, 32, who is looking for his breakthrough win, finished on 18-under-par, three shots behind winner Mikael Lundberg of Sweden.

"Top three in any tournament is fantastic so I'm happy," said Barham.

"I didn't look at any leaderboards until the 15th. I knew I was playing pretty solid. I almost did it so I am pleased with my week."

Barham's previous best was fourth in this year's Welsh Open at Celtic Manor.
