Hudson won the Tenerife Open last month

England's Rebecca Hudson won the English Open by a stroke after hitting a final-round 64 to finish on 10 under in blustery conditions in Oxfordshire.

Hudson trailed overnight leader Melissa Reid by four strokes but shot eight birdies at The Oxfordshire Golf Club for her second title in three weeks.

Fellow Englishwoman Reid, 20, missed a birdie on the 17th to level and had to settle for a nine under par 69.

Becky Brewerton of Wales tied for seventh with England's Lora Fairclough.

Australia's Joanne Mills finished third on six under after a bogey-free 66, while Spailn's Marina Arruti was fourth on five under.

Hudson described her win in Thame, which followed her victory at the Tenerife Open in June, as "wonderful".

"And to have two English players at the top is something special as well.

"At the beginning of the day I knew that someone would have to shoot low to catch Mel but I didn't think this would happen. I hit some good shots and played the course the way I wanted to."

Reid, who is still searching for her maiden Ladies European title, rued missing a 10-foot putt on the par-five 17th.

"I'm pretty gutted right now but I've got to stay patient and maybe the win will come pretty soon," she said.

"I still made a couple of mistakes, which I want to erase. I'm learning all the time and this was a great challenge in all the conditions."
