Sunderland ladies hit double figures for the second time in four games

Sunderland hit double figures for the second time in four matches as they beat Aston Villa 11-0 at Hetton in Sunday's Premier League North game.

Strike duo Natalie Gutteridge and Sophie Williams hit four goals apiece, with Kelly McDougal notching a brace and Jordan Nobbs also on target.

Manager Mick Mulhern said: "It was an excellent team performance.

"We have had a slight blip lately and maybe one or two have had an eye on the cup final."

The win follows the 11-0 defeat of Rotherham earlier in the month.

The ladies now have a fortnight's break before their Women's FA Cup Final appearance against Arsenal at Derby County's Pride Park home on Monday, 4 May.
