Karen Carney's last-gasp goal gave Arsenal a 1-0 win against Women's Premier League leaders Bristol Academy.
Victory lifted the Gunners up to second place in the table, two points behind Bristol but with six games in hand.
Striker Katie Anderton hit the winner as Blackburn Rovers jumped to third with a 2-1 victory over Leeds United.
Two goals by Emily Westwood helped Everton to a 3-1 win over Doncaster Rovers Belles, while Charlton's home game against Chelsea was postponed.
Bristol Academy 0-1 Arsenal
Bristol were under pressure throughout the game but almost held out to deny Arsenal a 42nd successive League victory.
With striker Stef Curtis an emergency goalkeeper in place of the injured Laura Barnes-Ellis, Academy fought a brave rearguard action.
They had a narrow escape when Wales captain Jayne Ludlow hit the bar with a header midway through the second half.
And their luck finally ran out just two minutes from time, when Carney drilled home a left-footed shot for her eighth goal of the season.
Blackburn Rovers 2-1 Leeds United
Former England right winger Karen Burke set Blackburn on the road to victory with a 15th minute opener.
Anderton stretched the lead six minutes before half-time with her 20th goal of the campaign.
Leeds hit back through a 72nd minute penalty by England left winger Sue Smith. But despite mounting some late pressure the visitors could not force an equaliser.
Everton 3-1 Doncaster Rovers Belles
Everton came from behind to complete a League double over the Belles.
Vikki Stevens gave the visitors an early lead, but Westwood quickly equalised.
The England player then put the Toffees in front before half-time. And midway through the second period midfielder Jill Scott hit the victory clincher.
