Porter (l) played with former manager Martin Foyle at Port Vale
York City caretaker manager Andy Porter has left Bootham Crescent after four games in charge.
He completed his duties following the 1-0 defeat at home by Kettering in Blue Square Bet Premier on Tuesday.
Porter, 42, had been at York for just under two years as Martin Foyle's assistant and he took over following Foyle's resignation two weeks ago.
The club hope to make an announcement regarding the appointment of Foyle's successor as soon as possible.
A club statement read: "York City Football Club would like to thank Andy Porter for his efforts and the important contribution he has made during his time as assistant manager and more recently, caretaker manager.
"After receiving a number of applications for the position of manager, the board of directors has compiled a shortlist and is in the process of interviewing prospective candidates.
"We would like to thank our fans for their continued support and patience following the surprise resignation of Martin Foyle."
